First Round, Standard- 1 Win, 3 Draws & 3 Losses for Iran
The System of play is Scheveningen. Players receive 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move starting from the first move.
Two stars team were playing the first round of the Standard section on July 12th at 16:15 in Anzali Free Zone.
The Iran Stars Team did their best, however could not defeat the World Stars Team. The final result was 4.5-2.5 for the World Team.
Looking at the individual results showed some surprises again from the Iranian players’ sides. GM Parham Maghsoodloo, the Iranian talented player, with the black pieces won GM Jobava, the holder of Gold Medal of World Chess Olympiad. Another Iranian Grandmaster, Amirreza Pourramezanali, who recently achieved first place in Asian Zonal 3.1 Championship, finished his game against the powerful GM Safarli in a draw. It was a valuable result for Amirreza.

Two Dutch Grandmasters, Van Wely and Ivan Sokolov, won GM Pouya Idani and IM Alireza Firouzja, respectively.

Therefore, the first round of Standard section finished with 1 win, 3 draws, and 3 losses for Iran Stars Team.
